This invitation suite, from our friend Shayne of Ink Papery, embodies a classic, timeless style. The design is partially inspired by the clean layout, generous spacing, and restrained typography of both our Alcott and Theon designs. The couple, Kara and Matthew, added lovely personal details to transform their wedding stationery suite into something truly memorable.

An intertwined monogram of the couple’s initials is the centerpiece of the suite. This opulent monogram is an endearing, individualized touch. Guests caught their first glimpse of the custom monogram on the save the date.

The layout of both the save the date and the invitation provides generous spacing, so each element of the design can stand out. These cards rely on proportion and balance to create a look that is sophisticated and elegant. The typography is simultaneously traditional and contemporary.

All of the cards feature our cotton paper, which provides a soft, plush texture and holds a crisp letterpress impression. Holly letterpress ink adds subtle, unexpected color while maintaining a classic, enduring vibe. 

A hand-drawn sketch of the venue adorns the reception card. This inclusion creates a focal point and gives the suite a sense of place. The highly detailed architectural illustration provides yet another meaningful, personal component.

Sara and Adam created a memorable save the date that was sure to get their guests excited about the invitation. A bold custom illustration is the standout feature of this card. The presentation is soft and tailored, and the design is completely custom.

The gorgeous, symmetrical crest has an old-world medallion-style feel. The raised detail of the embossing stands out on our 2-ply paper. No ink is used for a blind emboss, so the texture of our cotton paper stands out, and the lack of color gives the ornate artwork an almost minimalist feel. The raised artwork contrasts with the letterpress text, which is pressed into the paper, adding an extra layer of visual interest.

This bold letterpress save the date features an extravagant typography-inspired look. The couple, Elaine and Matthew, were inspired by the Gilded Era grandeur of the Metropolitian Club and worked with our NYC store to create their luxurious save the date and details cards.

The couple chose our now-retired Corwin save the date design. We periodically retire designs, which means we no longer maintain samples. Although you can still select and customize any of our retired designs.

The original design, seen above on the left, features foil stamping on our Bordeaux 2-ply paper. The couple opted to use a letterpress ink color reminiscent of the paper of the original, paired with our Bella smooth cotton white 2-ply stock, as seen above on the right. The contrast between the deep, rich color of the ink and the white paper adds to the design’s intensity, while the thick stock is luxurious and holds a deep letterpress impression, perfectly showcasing the exquisite flourishes of the sweeping script font. The text slightly tips upward across each line, creating a dramatic effect.

The coordinating details card uses the same script font for the heading, but utilizes a serif font for the remaining text. The liner features a vintage map of the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the location of the wedding, which is such a charming detail.
