This invitation suite has a modern feel while also maintaining a vintage aesthetic. This seems very contradictory, but it works in a lovely, beautiful way. The couple, Rachele and James, worked with our dear friend Julie from Where’s the Party? to customize our Alder design into the perfect minimalist botanical invitation suite.

The inspiration design features a solitary fern frond in blind deboss, establishing a very minimalist look. The couple expanded on this concept by featuring a series of flower motifs arranged in a pattern. The botanical motifs feel antique and nostalgic, similar to pressed flowers, while the clean layout and generous white space keep everything contemporary. Widely spaced serif lettering and restrained italic text lend an elegant, restrained quality. 

Blind debossing presses into the paper without ink, adding depth and texture without color for a purely tactile element. The text is letterpress printed over the blind deboss in our dark gray ink. This layered approach, especially when pressing into the paper without ink, further emphasizes the pillowy softness and texture of our Bella cotton paper.

The same floral pattern used for the blind deboss on the invitation, our Underwood pattern, also appears as the envelope liner. Guests also get a peek at the pattern, again in blind deboss, on the thank you card.
