Everything about this wedding invitation suite, created by our dear friend Kayla at Papermade Studio, is gorgeous and unique. Caitlin and Matthew’s San Diego wedding is full of lovely details, from a custom pocketfold, velvet paper, a unique die-cut, and so much more!
The bride explains, “We will be getting married in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego, on the Summer Solstice. Our wedding celebration will be tailored after Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The design incorporates celestial and fantastical elements to represent the day.”

The invitation features two-color letterpress with gold matte accents on the text side. The reverse features celestial artwork in gold matte foil on navy velvet. You may recognize the artwork from the Save the Date. The invite fits inside a custom pocketfold with a cutout that allows guests to glimpse the moon artwork. The floral artwork on the interior pocket matches the organic border on the card, creating a cohesive feel.

The darling brunch card features star artwork in gold matte foil that also appears on the invitation and pocketfold. The text stands out in midnight shine foil, while an oval die-cut shape is both on-trend and elegant.
Perhaps the standout piece in this entire suite is the quote insert card. Our 3-ply smooth cotton paper in bright white is die-cut into the shape of a Grecian bust. Blind deboss adds detail to the bust, while the line from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, spoken by Helena, ‘love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,’ is foil-stamped in plum shine. Gatefold Wrap

size: f-8 vertical gatefold (8.31 x 12.51 flat, 8.31 x 6.24 folded)
finishing notes: score
Chambray letterpress and gold matte foil perfectly complement one another, while our 2-ply cotton paper holds a deep letterpress impression. Custom artwork of the ceremony venue is featured in gold matte foil at the top of the invitation, making the card more meaningful and personalized.
Kelsey and Kevin made this design their own by adding a vellum gatefold wrap. The original invitation design features blind embossed floral accents. The couple chose to remove that artwork from the invitation but added it to the gatefold using pearl shine foil, adding a subtle glimmer.
envelope addressing: chambray letterpress on front
All the cards in this suite have their own unique look while still maintaining a cohesive feel due to the use of consistent colors and artwork. The details card features white matte foil stamping on our asparagus velvet stock. While the events card pairs spruce letterpress, which is a similar hue to the asparagus velvet, and gold matte foil with our soft blue Bella handmade paper. The soft blue handmade paper coordinates with the chambray letterpress found on the invitation, reply card, reception card, and rehearsal dinner invitation.

There is something subtle and classic about tone-on-tone printing that elevates the look of a piece. We have been enjoying the tonal printing trend for a while now and are excited to share examples of this trend from our latest release.
The reaching vines, foliage, and flowers of the Darcy save the date are perfect for a garden bash. The olive letterpress printing is darker than our 2-ply spruce paper, so there is plenty of contrast for ease of reading while still showcasing a tonal look.
A complete monochromatic look is lovely, but you can also use the tone-on-tone concept to highlight specific parts of the design. The Darcy invitation retains some tone-on-tone appearance by pairing olive letterpress for the floral border with sage velvet. The border creates a balanced design, but utilizing the tonal look for the floral frame shifts the focus to the foil-stamped names. The names are a natural focal point due to the foil stamping, but the tonal border helps draw the eye to the names.
The Elwood reception card stays true to the tone-on-tone trend. Cypress letterpress is the perfect complement to our spruce paper. The green tones work well together and add an understated flair.
Quite Luxury

The Harriet rehearsal dinner card has clean lines and a modern feel. The simplistic design exudes the notion that less is more. The ink and paper selection follows through on this concept. Yale letterpress printing on 2-ply cloud paper maintains that simple and elegant look.
Nash Rehearsal Dinner Invitation
Letterpress ink: terracotta
Fonts: the original + branch
Paper: bella handmade terracotta

The Nash rehearsal dinner invitation delivers that same laidback extravagance but conveys more of a rustic tone. Our terracotta letterpress ink is coupled with our new handmade terracotta paper for a true tone-on-tone appearance.
Tonal Inspiration
Tone-on-tone printing can streamline a card design, or it can be a way to highlight other parts of a design. This technique is a current trend, but it has a timeless aspect. Sculpted Embossing
Several new designs feature sculpted embossing. This technique allows for embossing with various depths, giving items like flowers lifelike detail while patterns add increased dimension.
Sedna Save the Date
Letterpress ink: toast
Sculpted embossing: blind
Fonts: mr eaves mod + ivy ora display
Paper: almond 2-ply
Card size: a-6 (tier 2)
Foil edging: mink matte
The sand dollar artwork on our Sedna Save the Date sets the perfect coastal tone for a beach-side affair. The sand dollar is sculpted embossed on our almond 2-ply paper. The printing method allows for a high level of detail and perfectly mimics the texture and indentations of this sea creature, lending the artwork a realistic look that will make guests excited for your big day.
Vital Save the Date
Letterpress ink: ruby
Sculpted embossing: blind
Fonts: didot + nightfall + nightingale script
Paper: almond 2-ply
Card size: a-7 (tier 3)
Liner: vitale pattern in red shine on ruby text
Envelope: bella cotton white pointed flap
Digital addressing: black
The floral accents of the Vitale save-the-date feature curves and indentations along the petals and veining on the leaves for vivid, true-to-life detail. The raised impression is surprisingly realistic and adds an elegant air to this card. You can customize this design to feature the flowers you intend to use in your ceremony for a bespoke, on-point detail.
Sowerby Pocketfold
Foil stamping: rose gold shine
Sculpted embossing: blind
Fonts: bradley djr + krul regular
Papers: bordeaux 1-ply
Pocketfold: f-8
The Sowerby pocketfold is another example of sculpted embossing. Our 1-ply bordeaux paper features the bride and groom’s initials in rose gold shine foil. The foil-stamped initials are surrounded by vines with flowers and foliage that feature a high level of detail, giving the greenery a lifelike look. The invitation adheres inside the pocketfold, so this beautiful duogram and the wreath-like border are the first glimpse guests see when they receive your invitation.
New Die Shapes
This release also features new die-cut shapes. A die-cut card adds style and uniqueness to a printed piece. The Kinsley suite showcases a die-cut menu, debossing, and lots of new papers. The invitation features spruce letterpress and tawny shine foil on our handmade ivory paper. The leaf motif on the wedding invitation appears as a full pattern on the liner, which is foil stamped on asparagus velvet paper.
The leaf artwork appears again on the menu. Blind deboss adds detail to the foliage, which appears to wrap along the edge of the die-cut card. The evergreen 2-ply paper is stately and coordinates with the spruce and holly letterpress and asparagus velvet throughout the suite.

Murphy
Our first Louie Award finalist is Murphy from our Holiday release in 2024. This design by Meghan O’Brien.
Murphy is such a fun and inventive holiday greeting that is a card within a card. A holiday postcard tucks into a die-cut outer card. The outer card is die cut to resemble a mailbox, complete with a slot. A pocket adhered to the back of the mailbox card secures the postcard in place.

Our final Louie Award finalist is Cyrus from our 2025 Wedding release by Katie Magee.
Cyrus’s whimsical floral pattern is eye-catching and creates a vintage vibe. The three-color letterpress is artfully designed and printed to create a stylized pattern. A pocket utilizing our lilac paper, which matches the lilac letterpress ink in the pattern, provides space on the back to secure additional cards. The pattern appears again, but this time as blind emboss on the back pocket, creating a cohesive and tactile element.
The flower pattern that serves as the centerpiece of the invitation is transformed into a letterpress border for the rehearsal dinner invitation and a blind deboss border on the save the date, creating consistency across all of the pieces.
Our luxuriously thick 3-ply color paper perfectly showcases the blind embossed border and foil stamping. The thick stock is further highlighted by the 45-degree bevel that is edged in copper shine foil. Metallic thread secures a die-cut velvet tag for an extra special and opulent touch.
We’re always looking for new trends to share with you. To start the new year, we sat down with designer Katie Magee to gain insight into 2025 design trends and get an idea of what you can expect to see in luxury invitations. Designing with us for over five years, Katie loves clean lines and fine detail, which naturally lends itself to letterpress printing. Her designs range from classic to whimsical, and we knew she would have a good handle on what will be big in 2025!
Tonal Sets
Many couples are using coordinating inks and paper colors for a gorgeous tone-on-tone look or a range of inks and paper colors in a certain shade to carry a tonal look throughout the set.
Blues and greens have been popular, and our variety of colors and inspiring designs can apply to any occasion.
We had fun with the tone-on-tone trend when testing our new paper colors here in the studio. Corresponding letterpress inks complement the paper and create a sophisticated monochromatic look.
Soft Color Palettes and Textures
Think blushy pinks, dusty blues, sage greens, and light neutrals, along with blind embossing or debossing, paired with cottony handmade papers and soft silk ribbons. Our Melrose design perfectly incorporates dainty florals, a delicate script font, and a soft color palette. The addition of handmade paper and a luxurious silk ribbon elevates this save the date, as seen above.
Velvet Papers
Velvet has been a showstopper throughout 2024, and we still see it used creatively in so many sets. Across cards, liners, tags, bellybands, and pocketfolds, velvet brings a luxurious tactile element to already stunning sets.
Velvet introduces dimension and depth and gives an ethereal quality to a set. Our Selene design is an excellent example of the lovely texture velvet adds to an already stunning design.
Trendsetting
Incorporating any of these trends into your design will ensure your finished pieces are on-trend today while maintaining timeless elegance, resonating over time. We love creating new and exciting designs and want to help you with your save-the-date or invitation!
